Trojan Battery Company, where our products provide CLEAN ENERGY FOR LIFE, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor in our Lithonia, GA battery manufacturing facility.
Trojan Battery is powered by great people and this motivated and seasoned warehouse professional will be a champion and model for SAFETY, QUALITY AND CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT.
Some of your responsibilities will be:
- Ensure that all employees and vendors under the management of the traffic department work safely and adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
- Partners with Production to ensure exemplary customer service.
- Ensure that shipments meet inventory and customer requirements.
- Direct and supervise departmental record and reporting systems, preparation of reports, and procedures implementation including computer reporting; assures system is utilized to fullest advantage to meet corporate objectives.
- Work closely, as needed, with customers on transportation issues; solve problems promptly.
- Determine and recommend appropriate shipping containers, transportation routes, and product configuration (batteries with or without acid, etc.) to ensure lowest cost structure and maximize efficiencies.
- Ensure that shipments meet inventory and customer requirements.
- Responsible for inbound and outbound goods movement.
- Maintains accurate inventories of Raw Materials and Finished Goods within Baan V ERP System.
- Utilize Supply Chain policy to ensure 98%+ order fulfillment rate and increase inventory turnover.
In addition to solid warehouse leadership experience, here’s what you'll need for success:
- APICS certification preferred.
- Forklift certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or other relevant field or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- At least 3 years relevant experience in domestic and international transportation/distribution supervision and/or warehouse management, preferably in an ISO environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP systems is required.
- Ability to provide effective leadership and motivation to the organization while building a teamwork environment.
- Inclination to take charge and begin incremental improvement without waiting for an ultimate solution.
- Ability to stay focused on both the tactical and strategic missions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
