Climbing the Spiral: Laurie Oswald on Women in Leadership, AI, and 100-Year Companies

Chief Commercial Officer Laurie Oswald recently joined host Ruth Redding on the Business Intelligence Group's Winners' Circle podcast. In the 26-minute episode, Oswald described leading commercial transformations at two century-old companies—C&D Technologies and Trojan Battery Company—while advancing women in leadership and global diversity.

Oswald shared how she oversees sales, marketing, product, and customer teams across both organizations, supporting critical infrastructure such as data centers, telecom networks and utilities at C&D Technologies, as well as motive power applications including golf carts and aerial work platforms at Trojan Battery.

She highlighted how both companies are modernizing through new battery chemistries, global product strategies, and digital initiatives, including Trojan’s first B2B ecommerce platform and AI-driven analytics to enhance customer experience.

The conversation explored how C&D and Trojan are preparing for the next 100 years of leadership, the growing importance of batteries in ensuring uptime for AI-driven data centers, and how AI is being integrated into commercial teams while keeping people at the center.

Oswald also reflected on her leadership journey, the value of a global mindset, and her commitment to building diverse, high-performing teams.
